State Policy Specialist - United Wholesale Mortgage

About the Job
United Wholesale Mortgage is seeking a State Policy Specialist to join our Government Affairs team. This role involves monitoring, analyzing, and influencing state-level legislation and regulatory developments that impact the mortgage industry. The State Policy Specialist will work closely with internal stakeholders, industry partners, and government officials to advocate for policies that align with the company's objectives.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Monitor and analyze state legislative and regulatory activities related to the mortgage industry.
- Develop and implement strategies to influence state policy decisions in alignment with company goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with state legislators, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
- Prepare policy briefs, reports, and presentations to communicate state policy developments to internal teams.
- Collaborate with the federal policy team to ensure cohesive advocacy efforts across all levels of government.
- Represent the company at industry meetings, conferences, and other relevant events.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Must Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in government affairs, state policy analysis, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of state legislative processes and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
