Job Description :
GENERAL OVERVIEW
Monitors, maintains and repairs all campus HVAC and infrastructure related equipment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Ensures the proper operation of the hospital's energy systems including the steam, medical gases, oxygen, chilled water, electricity, vacuum and HVAC equipment. (20%)
+ Performs preventive maintenance in accordance with the computerized work order system. (30%)
+ Monitors all computerized equipment related to building utilities. (10%)
+ Responds to and notifies the proper personnel in case of emergencies, such as, fires, power outages, floods or elevator malfunctions resulting in the safe evacuation of trapped people. (10%)
+ Installs new equipment. (10%)
+ Orients and trains trade employees. Assigns and schedules jobs to be performed in coordination with supervision. (20%)
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
+ City of Pittsburgh Stationary Engineers License
+ 3 years of hospital experience
+ 3 years experience in HVAC Systems or equivalent experience required.
Preferred
+ Trade school preferred.
+ Prior supervisor experience preferred.
