Qualifications:
- 2+ years of structural and miscellaneous steel estimating experience
- Detailing experience not required but a bonus.
- Knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles
- Understand aspects of structural steel and miscellaneous metal concepts.
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Willingness to train and support team members.
Duties:
- Review and analyze blueprints, project specifications, and other client documentation to prepare accurate project estimates.
- Create detailed estimates for new projects and change orders, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Perform material take-offs, labor estimates, and buyouts to develop comprehensive bid estimates.
- Collaborate with project team members and communicate potential risks or issues to management.
- Discuss and recommend alternatives to meet client needs and project requirements.
- Interact professionally with team members and assist in bid follow-ups, writing up new jobs, and coordinating with Detailers, Engineers, and suppliers.
- Review bid invitations, assist Accounts Receivable with Schedule of Value (SOV) breakouts, and attend client budget meetings.
- Help with quoting Value Engineering Budgets and reviewing contract scopes.
- Complete prequalification forms and be open to training others in estimating.
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu, EJE, Excel, and Outlook is required; detailing experience is a plus.
