Stewardship Consultant - Congregational Services at Everence

POSITION SUMMARY
Serve as a key member of the Congregational Services team. Responsible for creating, advancing, and growing Everence relationships with Hispanic individuals, churches/faith communities, networks, conferences, and district leaders. Identify and deliver services in education and financial services, member/benefit programs, and promote the use of other Everence resources. This position is National in scope, and we are open to hiring someone located near our regional offices.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Develop external relationships for the purpose of gaining insight about their mission; identifying opportunities where Everence can serve as a partner in addressing their objectives and sharing relevant components of the Everence story that allows the Consultant to advance the opportunity to serve the prospect/client.
- Routinely make referrals to the appropriate area for respective products and services
- Update contact activity, meeting notes, and related activities in CRM system
- Responsible for the following activities/duties in the Hispanic market with six metrics to be used for performance evaluation depending on the focus of the position.
- Deepen existing congregational relationships
- Grow congregation product relationships in our diverse Hispanic communities
- Deliver and help create Stewardship education presentations
- Lead local resourcing for pastors, Advocates and Stewardship teams
- Deliver Advocate onboarding, Stewardship assessments, and other resourcing
- Direct participants to Everence's digital/web resources
- Promote Member benefits by connecting and working with corporate Member Benefits staff, local Chapter participants, and pastors/advocates to:
- Champion Chapter purpose, effectiveness, and growth
- Present and represent other member benefits
- Support administration and distribution of grants and gift programs (i.e., Sharing Funds, Everence scholarships, etc.)
- Become knowledgeable of, and participate in, Hispanic church organizational structures (denomination/network/movement) and respective gatherings (conference, district, yearly meeting) staff, as called on by Everence and market leadership. Identify existing gaps and new opportunities for Everence to grow in strengthening our engagement in Hispanic communities, networks, congregations, and denominations.
- Develop and carry a solid working knowledge of Everence's multi-cultural initiatives and support available Everence services that serve multi-cultural audiences.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
- Willing to earn appropriate professional designations, such as Financial Certified Coach, Life Insurance, etc.
Experience:
- Charitable fundraising, church leadership (lay or licensed), or a similar background is preferred
- Emphasis on church ministry, community development, fundraising, or financial background is optimal
- Public speaking
- Work in a team setting
Skills and Abilities:
- Interest in personal and organizational finance is essential
- Bi-lingual in both writing and speaking Spanish
- Proven ability to build relationships of trust, strong networking, and verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to set and maintain own schedule for optimum effectiveness by taking initiative, setting priorities, and following through with good customer service ethic, responsiveness, and follow-up
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to preach or speak on a variety of topics, as requested, and theological topics with preparation
- Team player with Everence's internal team and with church and non-profit leaders
- Understanding or ability to learn and operate successfully within Christian church denominational and network structures, especially Anabaptist denominations and churches and the faith community; other denominations as appropriate for local market or assignment, and flexibility to accommodate a variety of Christian expressions
- Working knowledge of or ability to learn planned giving and gift/fundraising
- Experience in and commitment to local congregation and broader church leadership
- Commitment to the stewardship values, vision, and mission of Everence along with a basic understanding of the Anabaptist faith tradition
- Ability to travel regionally
- Willingness to perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
