About the Job
We have an immediate need for a Structural Designer in the
Alexandria/Springfield, VA area.
We are looking for a recent graduates from an ABET accredited University, or someone with an EIT, looking to grow in their structural building design career.
This position will start as contract, with the expectation to go direct within 6 months of start date.
Direct hire salary range is $65-$75K, plus 100% paid medical, tuition reimbursement and other excellent perks!

Job description:
- Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of building materials using various building codes
- Participate in field surveys and document existing conditions
- Communicate and coordinate with architects and engineers of other disciplines
- Review and evaluate existing building structural systems
- Prepare drawings using Revit and AutoCAD
- Write comprehensive reports
- Review construction submittals, participate in construction observation, and respond to contractor inquiries

- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (B.S.CE), Bachelor of Architectural Engineering (B.AE), or Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering (B.S.AE), or equivalent, with coursework specialized towards structural engineering
- EIT or in pursuit of EIT license
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, & current industry structural engineering design software.
- Good organizational and team skills required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Willingness to be challenged and develop new skills
- Ability to work freely in the US
- Experience with analysis software such as Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Tedds, RAM Elements, RAM Structural System, and/or RAM Concept
- Masters Degree a plus
