Selectek has an immediate need for a Structural Designer in either Raleigh, NC or Aurora, NC.

This role will be heavy design for industrial purposes, such as heavy beams and supports for heavy equipment and foundations. You will engage heavily with the Project Managers and interface with and/or assist other designers with a positive attitude. At times, you will represent the company with customers and hash out design details as you virtually walk them through 3D models and point clouds. There will be cases where 3D scanning and/or field measurements are required. You will interact with plant personnel or even customer management, so that you understand the process and the project goals appropriately. With each design, you will need to ensure compliance with industry and customer specifications, policies, procedures (including site-specific safety protocols) and security requirements.
Pay: $36/hour - $40hour ($75,000 - $90,000 annual salary depending on experience)
Term of assignment: 6 months temp to perm (could go direct hire)
Pay method when direct: Salary
Location of job: Raleigh, NC OR Aurora, NC
Hours & Shift: Monday - Friday 8-5 - could be some flex time
Work from home: Yes, possible for several days/week when projects allow
Work remote: same as WFH above
Travel: Occasionally, if job dictates - usually day trips
Work Attire: Business Casual / Jeans

Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Application of engineering principles to the design of structural systems (steel and concrete structures in heavy industry)
- Preparation of Revit models and coordination with Plant 3D and Navisworks models; Revit is highly desired but may consider other software
- Ability to work and design within a 3D point cloud
- Able to work with specifications and create designs that can be used for material estimates
- Ability to review steel and rebar shop drawings
- Able to make site visits, gather field data, interpret and use this data to prepare designs
- Desire to learn and develop new skills
- Positive attitude
- Detail-oriented approach to work
- Effective, clear communication
- Can work independently with little direction; may provide some direction to more junior designers or drafters
Software:
- Revit (highly preferred)
- Autodesk Navisworks (highly preferred)
- Autodesk Recap
- Bluebeam or other similar software
- Microsoft Office
