We are seeking a Structural Engineer to work as a member of our vertical structures team in our Hartford, CT office.
We are seeking a Structural Engineer to work as a member of our vertical structures team in our Hartford, CT office.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent field investigations and building assessments
- Design and specify structural systems for new building construction and renovations
- Utilize drafting software (AutoCAD and Revit) for project tasks.
- Perform structural analysis of building systems
- Review contractor submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Conduct field visits to document existing conditions before and during construction
- Mentor junior staff on structural engineering tasks
- Coordinate with other trades and disciplines on project activities
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or architectural engineering; master’s degree in structural engineering preferred
- At least 5 years of experience required, consulting experience preferred
- EIT certification required; PE certification preferred or ability to obtain within 2 years
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience with design and drafting using AutoCAD and Revit
- Experience with concrete, steel, and timber design preferred
