Our client, an industry leader in infrastructure and construction, is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer with capital construction project experience to join their team in Plantsville, CT. About the Role The Structural Engineer will play a key role in designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of structural systems for large-scale projects, ensuring adherence to engineering standards and regulatory requirements. This position requires close collaboration with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver safe, efficient, and timely project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and assess structural components and systems for capital construction projects.
- Conduct structural analyses, safety inspections, and site assessments.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Work closely with project managers, architects, and construction teams to ensure project success.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as safety codes.
- Utilize engineering software, including AutoCAD, SAP2000, and Revit, for structural analysis and design.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Masters degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Connecticut, or ability to obtain licensure within six months of hire.
- 5+ years of structural engineering experience, with a focus on capital construction projects.
- Proficiency with structural design principles, construction materials, and relevant building codes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
