Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide design for structural components necessary for the development of a project.
- Perform structural wood and steel calculations for commercial and residential projects.
- Perform reinforced concrete calculations for building slabs, spread footings, retaining walls etc.
- Structural engineer shall have ability of understanding, interpreting and correctly applying national codes and standards such as IRC, IBC, ASCE-7, ACI, and AISC.
- Keep up to date on new engineering processes, techniques, and IMS and standards.
- Ensure that effective methods and design/engineering techniques are used.
- Resolve project issues and problems.
- Provide technical guidance to co-workers.
- Contribute to a team environment by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner.
- Works autonomously without direct supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong working knowledge of design codes such as IRC, IBC, ASCE-7, ACI, and AISC.
- PE in Texas
- Should be proficient in using analytical software and have experience using AutoCAD, RISA & Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills and interface skills with clients and project team members.
- Ability to multi-task, and a willingness to quickly change work assignments.
- Education & Experience:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- 7 plus years of experience residential and commercial engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Certificates & Licenses:
- State of Texas Structural Engineer License
