JOB REQUIREMENTS: Summary: Designs buildings and components to ensure
that they are structurally sound and comply with all building codes,
contract documents, and engineering standards and practices by
performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the
following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Designs buildings and
components as required utilizing programs and engineering standards and
practices.* 2. Updates design programs as building codes change to
ensure compliance.* 3. Assists estimators as necessary for special
steel requirements that the estimator cannot design.* 4. Prepares
analysis comparison of design vs. estimate to predict profitability of
job.* 5. Assists drafting as necessary to clarify design and details
needed to complete drawings.* 6. Represents the company with the
highest professional and ethical standards in dealing with internal and
external customers.* 7. Prepares estimates when work load in Estimating
Department requires it.* 8. Keeps current with codes, construction
methods and materials system design programs and recommends changes as
necessary.* 9. Travels to job sites to investigate potential, existing
design problems or concerns. * OTHER EXPERIENCE AND
QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
