Structural Engineer (PE) - Red Leaf Recruitment

• Review plans and specifications for commercial, industrial, and residential projects to verify they meet city, state, and federal laws and regulations.
• Lead preconstruction meetings with contractors, developers, and relevant staff to discuss project details.
• Offer technical guidance and assistance to inspection teams, particularly when field issues arise.
• Address and resolve complaints from clients, applicants, the public, designers, and contractors.
• Maintain regular communication with municipal clients and their staff.
• Conduct on-site inspections as needed, providing interpretations of building codes.
• Attend meetings, seminars, and events focused on building codes and related regulations.

• Extensive knowledge of local building codes and modern construction practices.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, the public, contractors, government agencies, and clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and effective time management.
• Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and make sound judgments.
• Skilled in drafting plan review correspondence and updating records in company software.
• Capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with various editions of International Building Codes and a commitment to staying updated.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs.

• FL PE License in Structural required
• 3-5 years combined experience in building department field inspection and plans examiner duties.
• Full Driving License
