We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our team in Rochester or Buffalo, NY. This individual must be able to work independently, as well as part of multi-discipline teams. The candidate will work on an interesting variety of project types including commercial, institutional, cultural, municipal and industrial structures, as well as other industries such as entertainment, healthcare, higher education, parking structures, and transportation.
The ideal candidate will have 3-8 years of experience related to the design and analysis of various building types, and a strong desire to advance their knowledge and technical skill level as part of a growing team.

- Structural design and analysis for a wide range of buildings projects, involving steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and archaic building systems.
- Assist in the preparation of drawings and specifications from concept design through advanced technical design to develop cost-effective structural solutions.
- Conduct site investigations to document existing conditions.
- Prepare engineering reports.
- Work closely with other engineering and architectural disciplines.
- Act as liaison to Clients and Project Managers.
- Create and maintain client relationships.
- Assist with business development and work to promote TYLin’s growth and brand recognition.
- Maintain involvement in professional organizations to keep abreast of new industry developments.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil (structural engineering coursework focus) or Structural Engineering is required.
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering would be considered an asset.
- 3+ years of experience in the execution of commercial, municipal, or institutional buildings projects as a Structural Engineer is required.
- A New York State PE license would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency with computer analysis software (e.g. ETABS, RISA, RAM, SAP, etc.).
- Working knowledge of REVIT would be considered an asset.

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $72,500 - $108,700 annually for this position and local market.
