About the Job
A Structural & Payload Designer position is currently available with Belcan, working in Ridley Park, PA. This is a full time, direct job with full benefits or a Contractor position. Great matching candidates will have a Bachelor"s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline. You will design, draft, and release engineering parts, assemblies, and installations for commercial derivative in support of nacelles and/or and airframe structures.
Job Duties:
* Create new or update existing drawings following Customer standards to incorporate design solutions
Accurately perform medium complexity numerical stack-up calculations and GD&T functions
* Assist with the release process for drawings and models
* Ability to understand and read high complexity drawings following Customer standards
Required Qualifications:
*Develops solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems which require ingenuity and innovation
* Helps solve problems that would affect cost, schedule, and performance
* Works according to established guidelines.
* Ensures application of best practices and identifies the need for enhanced processes, methods, and tools
* Is proficient within a specific functional capacity
* Effective oral and written collaborative engineering environment communication skills
* Ability to effectively present oral and written engineering requirements and results
* Ability to work seamlessly in an IPT environment and across facilities and groups
* Requires educational credentials meeting the classification standards for engineers
Minimum five (5) years of experience performing structural design on primary and secondary structures
* Strong emphasis on customer service
* Prior mentoring experience is required
* Must have good interpersonal skills and willing to work with others effectively
* Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and written
* Some travel to customer locations is required
* Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
* Must be available to begin work immediately
* Legal authorization to work in the US required
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
* Fixed wing commercial aircraft program experience
* Extensive understanding of aircraft structure design, manufacturing processes and materials
* Knowledge and application of GD&T (ANSI Y14.5) preferred
* Familiarity with Boeing design methods preferred
* Previous Boeing 747 primary fuselage and secondary structures design experience preferred
* Strong knowledge and experience with CATIA V5/Enovia
* High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
* Boeing IVT digital mockup experience
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or similar discipline from a four-year accredited College or University.
Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $95,000 to 120,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
