Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for management of specific projects.
- Development of structural systems with Principal-in-Charge.
- Supervision and direction of project engineers and drafters.
- Directly interface with clients on project specific issues.
- Directly responsible for the technical content and quality control on specific projects, as established with Principal-in-Charge.
- Establishes project fees, budgets and scheduling commitments with Principal-in-Charge.
- Tracks project cost and timing to ensure fulfillment of contract commitments and profitability.
- Identifies areas not in contract scope of work and develops proposals for additional services.
- Also functions as Project Engineer/Design Engineer on projects as required.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- 5 years minimum of progressive relevant experience in structural engineering of various projects utilizing all major construction materials.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to function effectively in team environment.
- P.E. license in California required, S.E. license preferred.
- B.S. degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university, M.S. degree with a specialty in Structural Engineering preferred.
- Familiarity with codes and standards applicable to the design and construction of major building projects located in California.
- Familiarity with typically utilized computer software programs (ETABS, RAM Structural System, RISA-3D, SAP2000, SAFE, SP Concrete Design Software, Microsoft Office).
