Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Staff Engineer to join our renweables team in Denver, Minneapolis, and Madison. This position is anticipated to start Summer 2025. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Responsible for structural design of foundations, ancillary structures and anchorage for utility scale solar projects, substations, and transmission line infrastructure.
- Prepare or direct the structural design reports, specifications, and plans. Review and approve project submittals, RFIs, and supports field activities during construction.
- Provide professional and technical support to multiple Westwood projects. Day-to-day support and input to internal and external Project Managers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Education or experience must include:
- IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318
- shallow and deep foundations, including spread footings, slab-on-grade, piles, and concrete caissons
- connection and anchorage design such as cast-in-place, post installed, welds and high-strength bolts
- steel member design, including cold-formed and hot-rolled steel sections
- reinforced and prestressed concrete design
- active construction projects, including inspections, submittals, and RFIs
- structural design for utility-scale PV solar projects
- remote collaboration and working with other disciplines
- design and construction of bridges
- structural inspections of existing structures
- seismic design
- distributed renewable energy system design
- MS Office
- AutoCAD
- Revit/BIM
- Bluebeam
- Finite Element Analysis
- Life Cycle Analysis
- Industrialized construction
- EIT/FE certification.
- Must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship
