Structural Steel Detailing Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Steel Detailing Manager to oversee our team of structural steel detailers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the detailing process from start to finish, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Structural Steel Detailing Manager will work closely with clients, engineers, and project managers to ensure that project requirements are met and that all parties are satisfied with the end result.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the structural steel detailing process from start to finish, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
- Supervise a team of structural steel detailers, providing guidance and support as needed
- Liaise with clients, engineers, and project managers to ensure that project requirements are met and that all parties are satisfied with the end result
- Review and approve all structural steel detailing drawings and models, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
- Provide technical support to the team as needed, and ensure that all team members are up-to-date with the latest industry developments and best practices
- Monitor project progress and provide regular status reports to clients and project managers
- Identify and resolve any issues or problems that arise during the detailing process
- Continuously look for ways to improve the detailing process, and implement process improvements as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in structural steel detailing, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role
- Strong technical knowledge of structural steel detailing, including the ability to read and interpret structural drawings and models
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including AISC, AWS, and OSHA
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, engineers, and project managers
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team of detailers
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and detailing software, such as Tekla Structures or AutoCAD
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Wage: $100,000 - $130,000/yr Depending on Experience
