STEEL ESTIMATOR JOB DESCRIPTION:

A premier structural steel fabricator serving the East Coast have an opening for a Steel Estimator with talent, initiative, and drive to join their team and have a critical role in their growing organization. As an estimator, you'll be responsible for estimating fabricated structural steel for the projects stated above. Projects value range from $1M - $30M.  This Estimating position comes with a very competitive salary and great benefits. 

Steel Estimator PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Quantitative take offs. 
• Oversee and review project plans, requirements and specifications
• Demonstrated leadership ability to coordinate a team to develop an estimate
• Determine labor and equipment costs
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing
• Understand project logistics and project schedule for Steel industry standards
• Understand all bid documents and assess project risks
• Review quotes and estimates with the project team
• Prepare estimates and different levels of completion ( conceptual, schematic, DD, CD, etc.)
• Orchestrate pre-construction duties and meeting with owners, clients and engineers
• Serve as company interface between owner & architect

Steel Estimator QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2+ years of steel estimating experience
• Detailing experience not required but a bonus.  
• Advanced computer skills with estimating software
• Extensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles
• Understand aspects of structural steel and misc. metal concepts.
