Job Description: Structural Steel Estimator/Project Manager

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Structural Steel Estimator/Project Manager to join our team. This role combines estimating project costs and managing the execution of structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the steel fabrication industry, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel projects based on project drawings and specifications.
• Analyze project requirements, including material, labor, and overhead costs.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure accurate bid submissions.
• Maintain and update pricing databases to reflect current market trends and materials costs.

Project Management:

• Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of steel fabrication and erection projects.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure adherence to project timelines and financial targets.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and resolve any issues that arise during construction.

Communication & Reporting:

• Prepare and present project proposals and progress reports to stakeholders.
• Maintain clear communication with team members and clients regarding project status and any changes in scope or schedule.
• Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in estimating and project management within the structural steel industry.
• Proficient in estimating software and project management tools.
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
