Job Description
The position will require a general knowledge of fabrication including reading and understanding prints, Multiple welding processes such as SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, And a general knowledge of common fabrication tools and equipment.
*This is a non-rotational position located at Big Lake, AK headquarters*
Responsibilities
+ Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
+ Examines weld for size and other specifications.
+ Cleans weld joint or work piece.
+ Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter.
+ Preheats work piece with hand torch when required.
+ Uses fabrication tools to perform layout and erect.
+ Works from ladders and scaffolding to fit together large assemblies.
+ This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
+ Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED equivalent or ten (10) years Structural Welder/Fitter experience will be considered.
+ Minimum one (1) year experience as a Structural Welder/Fitter.
+ Must be able to pass structural welding tests that will include multi process in 3G and 4G positions.
+ Wire feed flux core experience a must (Equipment used at the Big Lake Facility includes Lincoln Invertec v350 and LN 25)
+ Knowledge of industrial construction and familiarity with all equipment and functions related to the position.
+ Driver’s license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under vehicle insurance policy preferred.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and extreme cold. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. The shifts vary from 8hr to 12hr and from 5 days to 7 days a week depending on work load.
