About the Role
What You'll Do
- Use finite element analysis and classical methods to evaluate for strength, deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance.
- Finite element analyses of engine components and complete assemblies using best modeling practices.
- Develop allowables from novel materials.
- Author analysis tools for designers to use in sizing new parts (scripts, spreadsheets, etc...).
Basic Qualifications
- U.S. Person status
- Undergraduate Sophmore or above pursuing a BS or MS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related discipline
- Understanding of statics and free body diagrams
- Experience with CAD software such as Solidworks
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience in rapid prototyping, designing to take full advantage of 3D printing tools
- Experience with Python, Julia or Matlab
- Experience performing structural analyses in FEA (static, modal)
- Experience developing, running, and validating models
- Private or Remote Pilot Certificate Holder
- Passion for aviation
