As a structures mechanic, your job duties would include:
- Fabricating, installing, and altering sheet metal and structural components in compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, service letters, structural repair manuals, maintenance manuals, and AC43-13.
- Collaborating with inspection department to ensure compliance to airworthiness requirements are complied with.
- Ensuring maintenance activities are properly signed off daily on repair station discrepancy sheets and checklists.
- Reading and interpreting manufacturers' and STC holder’s manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of altering, repairing or replacing aircraft or components.

Required Experience:
Education, Experience and Credentials
- High school graduate or GED required.
- Strong aluminum structures experience required.
- Expertise in working with hand tools, sheet metal shop tools and common metal shop tasks. Ability to understand, interpret and follow specifications as defined by drawings or instructions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to meet FAA regulatory and safety requirements in all aspects of the work.
- Comply with drug testing requirements in compliance with federal regulations.
- Must be able to use hand tools, including wrenches, hammers, power tools, and other tools used in testing aircraft and parts.
- Must have all required tools designated on the Wipaire minimum required tool list by date noted. (Located on www.wipaire.com Careers page).
- Must comply with Wipaire FOD prevention plan.
- Ability to travel nationally and potentially internationally, as needed and directed by management preferred. Ability to obtain and maintain a United States passport preferred.
- Perform general arithmetic calculations such as: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Read and interpret various measuring devices.
- Works as an effective and proactive team-player; exhibits flexibility and switches priorities in work duties while maintaining a positive attitude; comprehends and explains the importance of supporting the organization, customers, and other employees.
- Plans, prioritizes, coordinates, and manages work in a moderately fast-paced environment. Works with minimal supervision; solves basic problems effectively and creatively.

- Stand, squat, reach, kneel, bend, and twist/turn for extended periods of time and perform long hours of work in the shop and hangar, repairing and maintaining aircraft.
- Move around the shop and hangar area repeatedly throughout the day.
- Stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Use close vision to see small parts and review detailed information, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
