- The pay rate for this position is $21.00 per hour, 20 hours per week.
Under direct supervision, incumbent performs duties ranging from unskilled to skilled and/or specialized, in a variety of position that typically require the use of manual, clerical, public contact and/or analytical skills. Assignments have limited use of discretion and judgment; work is regularly reviewed and may entail detailed instructions. Specific job duties are defined by the project or agency and can range from clerical, administrative, technical and research assignments.
Responsibilities:As the most user-facing member of the Information Systems department, this role is expected to collect, triage, research, and resolve computer- and application-related issues in a professional manner through direct customer interaction and achieve satisfactory resolution of issues utilizing support tools, service management software, diagnostic tools, and best-practices. This position answers incoming calls and responds to tickets in a professional manner as well as deploying workstations and laptops, troubleshooting issues, and responding to emails.
END USER SUPPORT 85%
- Monitors, responds to, and follows up on helpdesk service tickets
- Answers questions and troubleshoots issues for both on-site and remote users
- Support various applications and services including Email, Office Suite, Web Browsers, Adobe Products, and SharePoint, among others
- Support Users in Zoom Meetings
- Create and update IT-related documentation for end users
DESKTOP SUPPORT 10%
- Deploy and Manage desktops and laptops
- Setup and troubleshoot monitors, keyboard, mice, printers, and other peripherals
- Troubleshoot issues with Windows and resolve
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES AS ASSIGNED 5%
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student at SDSU
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
- None
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- IT service desk experience in the higher education field.
- Knowledge of, and/or experience with, computer hardware and software for PCs.
- Must meet the eligibility requirements of the Work-Study Program as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
