Overview
The Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards is seeking applicants for a Student Conduct Coordinator position. The incumbent will serve as the primary coordinator for Residence Life misconduct that is also a Student Code of Conduct violation. The Coordinator will provide support to students and staff for behavior conflict resolution with the goal of ensuring a safe and respectful campus living environment. The Coordinator will focus on student accountability, education, student development, and community safety and well-being.
Secondarily, the Coordinator will assist, investigate, and adjudicate allegations of student misconduct; this includes cases involving student organizations, serious violations of Residence Life policies, and academic and behavioral misconduct by individuals.
The Coordinator is an integral part of the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards, and the ideal candidate in this role should have a welcoming and professional presence that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and thoughtfulness. The Coordinator maintains highly confidential student conduct files following current state and federal guidelines.
Responsibilities
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
* Administers conduct management, training and education for campus residential students and staff, and serves as the liaison between OSCCS and Residence Life.
* Provides direction and support for campus residential staff regarding alleged Conduct violations.
* Determines if the Student Code of Conduct was violated by investigating allegations, meeting with involved parties, collecting relevant information, and weighing evidence regarding alleged Student Code violations.
* Holds students accountable for their actions when appropriate and assesses and monitors effective sanctions as appropriate.
* Conducts educational conferences with students, using the principles of restorative justice.
* Connects students to university resources to aid their success through proper referrals.
* Consults/collaborates with other appropriate university departments and faculty, staff, administrators, and students on all other cases.
* Conducts administrative reviews or disciplinary hearings as needed.
* Assists with the overall management of the Student Conduct system (Maxient).
* Support the administration of the student conduct process by serving as a case manager for cases involving allegations of general, substance use, and academic misconduct
