About the Job
Undergraduate student will be responsible for maintaining cultures of the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. This will include preparing media and transferring cultures from old to new agar slants using sterile technique. Other tasks include washing laboratory glassware, general laboratory maintenance and assistance with day-to-day operations at the Chlamydomonas Resource Center. Available hours are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 6:00pm, 10-20 hours per week, flexible schedule. Please indicate your work study status on your resume/cover letter.
Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent. Major in in the biological sciences or a related field. Must be proven meticulous, reliable and have good organizational skills. No previous laboratory experience necessary. We will train all new students in the lab.
