About the Job
Position Title: Peer Tutor for Computer Science CS200 Discrete Logic
Position Summary: On-campus, 5-10 hours per week
Salary Rage: $18-$25 per hour
Objective: To provide individualized support and assistance to a student in Computer Science CS200 Discrete Logic, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to succeed academically.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Assistance:
Attend the student's math class to offer on-the-spot support. Tue 3:30 PM - 4:45 PM/Thu 3:30 PM - 4:45 PM
Clarify instructions and help the student understand the material covered during the lesson.
Provide immediate assistance as needed to ensure comprehension of key concepts.
Homework Help:
Review and assist with homework assignments, ensuring the student understands the tasks and can apply concepts effectively.
Offer guidance on problem-solving strategies and review solutions to reinforce learning.
Study Support:
Conduct study sessions outside of class to help the student review and reinforce learning.
Assist with exam preparation by reviewing material, practicing problems, and addressing any areas of difficulty.
Qualifications:
Proficient in concepts relevant to the class being supported. Computer Science CS200 Discrete Logic Topics include logic set theory, Boolean matrix algebra, relations, structures, combinatorics, computational methods, elements of logic design, graphs theory and its applications to computer science and telecommunications, and design and analysis of efficient algorithms
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas in an understandable manner.
Patience, empathy, and a supportive attitude towards students' learning processes.
Previous tutoring or teaching experience is a plus, but not required.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Expectations:
Attend the designated class as scheduled.
Provide consistent and reliable support according to the student’s needs.
Maintain open communication with the student and, if applicable, their academic advisor or teacher.
Adapt tutoring methods to fit the student’s learning style and specific needs.

Student Policies:
The TA shall not work more than 8 hours in one work day.
The TA shall not work 7 consecutive days in one work week.
The TA shall not work more than 20 hours in one work week.
