About the Job
Bachelor's Degree in School Counseling, Social Work, or a related field. Licensed Professional Counselor Preferred.
Knowledge of child development, childhood mental health, and special education services, classifications, and procedures.
The minimum experience between 2-3 years providing services to children and families, case management; child and family mental health interventions; child behaviors; and group facilitation in schools.
Thorough understanding of barriers to student learning and the use of counseling strategies to eliminate those barriers
Position requires working independently, organizing tasks, problem-solving, making decisions, and handling multiple priorities.
Promotes and follows ethical standards for school counselors.
Uses professional written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Adheres to state and network regulations and procedures.
Understanding of the organizational structure and elements of a successful school counseling program, in alignment with the ASCA National Model
