_Join the Ford Advanced EV Development team as a Summer Worker in the Electrical Systems team, where you'll support the design and development of cutting-edge electric vehicles. In this role, you'll assist in modeling and simulation of electrical systems while engaging hands-on with labcar and prototype vehicles. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll ensure seamless system-level integration and functionality. Your responsibilities include managing system requirements, tracking and triaging issues, and leading root cause analysis to maintain system integrity. You'll also participate in testing and validation activities to ensure system performance and reliability. You will Conceptualize, Design, Engineer, Develop, and support the launch of next-generation vehicle platform architectures for electric vehicles._
What you’ll be able to do:
+ Assist in modeling and simulation using MagicDraw, Simulink, and Jama for requirements capture and analysis.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to effectively manage system requirements using Jama, ensuring all specifications are accurately captured, maintained, and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
+ Participate in the hands-on bring-up, development, and debugging of labcar and prototype vehicles.
+ Monitor and track issues in labcar and prototype vehicles, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead root cause analysis and issue resolution processes.
+ Support the development and refinement of electrical hardware components and systems.
+ Engage in testing and validation activities to ensure system functionality and performance.
+ Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
The minimum requirements we seek:
+ Pursuing a B.S in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
+ Experience and working knowledge of systems development, vehicle electrical architecture, functional safety, and component level integration planning
+ Strong interest in systems modeling and analysis, focused on automotive electronics
+ Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them to automotive concepts
+ Experience with electrical / electro-mechanical devices involving networked microcontrollers and embedded software
+ Experience with debugging and diagnosing issues across electrical, mechanical, and software domains
+ Familiarity with Vehicle Network Protocols such as CAN, LIN & Automotive Ethernet
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team
