Substance Use Disorder Clinical Supervisor ($88,898 - $142,237 Annually) DOE - Muckleshoot Indian Tribe

JOB SUMMARY Under general supervision, supervises assigned staff and oversees client care to ensure service standards are met. MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES This list is intended only to illustrate the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or is a logical assignment to the position. + Supervises and coordinates the SUD program, identifies operational issues and develops solutions, expands program availability. + Facilitates onboarding and trains staff to provide SUD assessments, admissions, Individual counseling, support groups, MRT groups, Harm Reduction education groups, crisis services, and relapse prevention. + Maintains the structure of the outpatient SUD programming to remain in conformance with the Washington Administrative Code (WAC), the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) , and individual contracts. + Supervises daily activities of the SUD team mentoring SUD clinicians on best practices in working with individuals and families who suffer from substance use and Co-Occurring Disorders. + Ensures SUD staff completes all clinical documentation including but not limited to assessments, intakes, treatment plans, progress notes, closing summaries, monthly reports, and other necessary correspondence related to client care promptly and accurately + Effectively selects and hires staff, delegates work assignments, promotes teamwork, evaluates staff, develops training curriculum, r eviews and approves SUD services. + Trains SUD staff on best practices for Urine Analysis and Breath Analysis, including the legal reporting standards. + Works as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including mental health clinicians and primary care providers, providing leadership around SUD practices, including Tobacco and Marijuana education. + Keeps client records in compliance with WAC, Medicaid, Medicare, local policies and other contracts. + Practices and incorporates Quality Improvement principles in daily work activities. + Follows all related accreditation processes for Federal, State, local, and Agency requirements and provides input to Agency Policies and Procedures. + Attends and facilitates required in-service trainings and community events. + Possesses a strong understanding of ASAM Dimensions, DSM 5, and assessment screening tools. + Ability to work with clients who have both substance use and mental health disorders; ability to show compassion and professionalism with patients who may be angry, depressed, distraught, frustrated, suicidal, and/or under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. + Requires a high level of written/verbal communication, proficient use of computers and electronic health records, including Microsoft Office Suite; high customer service skills, and is efficient with independent task management, and ability to show attention to detail. + As part of the leadership team works closely with the Program Managers to implement new initiatives and processes, including the development of program manuals; policies and procedures. + Prepares written and statistical reports; tracks SUD spending and referral services. + Maintains the privacy and confidentiality of all protected health information in accordance with the Division's Policies and procedures, and compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and other state and federal regulations. + May be asked to perform as an acting Behavioral Health Manager (BHM) in the absence of a BHM in a limited capacity. + Because of the Tribe's commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities including driving. EDUCATION - EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING FOR POSITION Required: + Credentialed with the Department of Health as a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) in the State of Washington and meets qualifications as an Approved Supervisor in accordance with WAC 246-811 + A valid and current Washington State driver's license. + A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university. Consideration may be given to an associate's degree when combined with five (5) years of direct clinical experience within the Muckleshoot Behavioral Health Program . + Minimum of five (5) years of experience as SUDP in a clinical settings and two (2) years as supervisor. + Must pass pre-employment, urinalysis testing, and criminal background check. + No substance use for the last five (5) years. + Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. + Strong familiarity with Telemedicine/Telehealth platforms, including knowledge of computer systems and electronic health records. Preferred: + Dually licensed provider (SUD and MH) + Experience working with the Native American population. + Master's degree in psychology, social work, human growth and development, or other closely allied field + The Medicine Wheel concept and its application as a treatment model. + Relapse prevention planning, domestic violence prevention, parenting skills, and craving-reduction skills. + Twelve core functions, continuum of care, theories and treatment models, and 12-step movement. + Knowledge of youth and adult treatment and intervention models and techniques. + Experience assisting with community events, training, and presentations. + Knowledge of childhood development and family systems. SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION Skilled in: Managing aggressive and/or violent clients. Teaching various models of counseling and evaluating appropriate counseling skills. Counseling and developing staff. Integrating program mission and policy into all phases of serving delivery and managing daily activities of the program. Written and oral communication. Clinical interviewing and assessment. Knowledge of: Advanced clinical applications and integrated treatment approaches. Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychological Association (DSM-5); The ASAM Patient Placement Criteria, and other screening instruments and applications. State and federal laws, regulations and programs that pertain to Substance Use Disorder services -Alcohol and Drug Assessment and Treatment Services, the Washington State Department of Health, Health Care Authority and community resources and criteria for access. Confidentiality and reporting laws. Suicide warning signs, lethality assessment and mental illness. Ability to: Motivate staff and participate in team building and development of staff; manage and prioritize multiple work priorities under time sensitive deadlines; maintain confidentiality; comply with applicable laws, ordinances, policies, and regulations; manage, schedule, assign, coordinate and monitor work of staff; maintain professionalism; analyze and apply critical thinking, investigate alternatives, and apply solutions; work independently; establish and maintain effective working relationships.
