Primary Talent Partners has a new Substation Engineer opening with our large utility client in the Lake Mary, FL area. This will be a 12 month, FT contract role with high potential to extend and/or convert. The role is hybrid, requiring just 2 days in office each week.
Pay: $54 - $64/hr based on experience; W2 Contract, no PTO, no Benefits
Schedule: M to F, normal business hours.
Transportation and Expenses: Will drive their personal vehicle, mileage reimbursed. Business expenses for project travel can be expensed back to the client.
Description:
We are seeking an experienced Substation Engineer to join our team located in Lake Mary, FL. As a Substation Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of high-voltage substations for power utility projects. Your expertise in substation design, high-voltage equipment application, lightning protection, grounding systems, and CAD will be crucial to the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and engineer high-voltage substations for power utility applications.
2. Ensure the correct application of high-voltage equipment and components.
3. Develop lightning protection systems for substations.
4. Design and optimize grounding systems to meet safety and performance standards.
5. Utilize CAD software to create detailed and accurate substation drawings and schematics.
6. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the successful completion of projects.
7. Perform technical reviews, analysis, and quality control of substation designs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in substation design for high-voltage power utility projects.
- In-depth knowledge of high-voltage equipment application and specifications.
- Expertise in designing lightning protection systems for substations.
- Strong understanding of grounding systems and their implementation.
- Proficiency in CAD software for substation design.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with substation automation and control systems.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
