Job Title: Substitute Health Room Assistant
Reports to: School Nurse
Bargaining Group: None
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position: The number of days or hours that a Health Room Assistant substitute works is dependent upon the number of regular employees who are absent on any given day. No specific guarantee of work is offered.
Salary: $18.87 per hour

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent;
CPR/ First Aid Certification;
Maintain a current driver’s license.
Must demonstrate sufficient command of the English language to communicate verbally and in writing with students, parents, district staff members and other concerned people regarding all aspects of their job related activities
Roles & Responsibilities:
Focusing on kids and their learning by providing health services to students to prevent, identify, and/or remediate health problems which may impair learning social adjustments or emotional well-being of students.
Take direction from the School Nurse
Promote student health by performing tasks as required, such as the regulation and dispensation of prescribed medicines.
Provide accurate health data by maintaining student health records required by District policy and state regulation.
Complete testing related to COVID-19.
Maintain required local, state, federal databases.
Support coordination of student vaccination clinics
Ability to use computers for record management.
Ability to relay humor and positive regard to students and colleagues.
Ability to utilize and evaluate interpretive feedback.
Possess a positive attitude about change and an eagerness to implement changes that will enhance student safety.
Ability to work cooperatively with students and their parents who are culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse.
Must work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality;
Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisor;
Work well under pressure;
Relate with students and the public in a positive way;
Meet multiple and conflicting deadlines;
Desired Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) program, or willingness to enroll in an accredited CNA program upon employment;
Experience in health-related occupation or job; preferred school district health related experience
Bilingual/Biliterate English/Spanish
