We are seeking an Audit Data Analyst Intern who is passionate about combining auditing with data analytics. This role involves applying data analysis techniques to audit processes, enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of our audits. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in applying data analytics within the context of auditing, working closely with seasoned professionals in the field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in integrating data analytics into auditing processes.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, outliers, and areas of risk.
- Support the development and maintenance of data models and databases specific to audit needs.
- Collaborate with the audit team to apply data analysis findings to audit planning and execution.
- Prepare reports and visualizations to communicate audit findings and data insights.
- Participate in meetings and workshops to understand the intersection of risk, data analysis and auditing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of IT audit methodologies and frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ISO 27001).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic and multilocation team.
- Ability to quickly understand complex ideas and business processes.
- Proactive in researching business best practice concepts in order to apply as appropriate.
• Good organization and project management skills including the ability to handle competing priorities and meet all deadlines and commitments.
• Ability to flourish in a fast-paced, complex environment, and willing to adapt to change.
• Basic understanding and ability to apply risk and control concepts.
• Basic understanding of Risk Management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field
- Basic understanding of auditing principles and practices.
- Prior experience/exposure with data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, ACL Analytics, Alteryx or other data analytic toolset) helpful.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret large amounts of data and to multi-task.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Anticipated dates of internship: 6/1/25 - 8/29/25
Work in the state of Utah.
