Summer Civil Designer Intern - OTAK INC

Otak is hiring a Summer Civil/Transportation Designer Intern for our Redmond, WA office! As an Intern, you will gain real world experience and have the opportunity to use your academic training. This position will work on a wide variety of projects throughout the Puget Sound region including municipal roadway, trail/sidewalk, grading, drainage/stormwater, river/stream restoration, utilities, and civic projects for various clients. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with an enthusiastic, team-oriented attitude.

What you'll do:

• Perform design services related to roadway/trail and site layout, grading, drainage/stormwater, utilities, and erosion control in conformance with local, state and federal regulations.
• Assist with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis.
• Assist with the preparation of construction plans using AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs and the preparation of construction cost estimates.
• Apply AutoCAD and/or GIS skills to produce supporting figures/design documents.
• Assist with construction support services.

What you bring:

• Current college junior, senior, or graduate level student.
• Top tier academic performers who are obtaining a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D is a plus.
• Candidates who are cultivating interests beyond academics and active in their local communities.

Pay Range:  $20-23 per hour
