GENERAL DUTIES: 1. Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities.2. Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters.3. Assist with the clean-up of the total camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer.4. Prepare and deliver the Craft Director camp brief at the end of the summer.5. Assist with evening cabin supervision.6. Any other duties as assigned by the Recreation Director.
SPECIFIC DUTIES: Safety and Supervision1. Enforce camp policies and procedures2. Maintain the utmost level of safety for staff and campers at all times.3. Ensure compliance with American Camping Association standards of safety and programmatic conduct at all times.4. Coordinate and implement all program components relative to the daily schedule in a timely fashion.5. Perform “Break Day” duties as scheduledWeekly Responsibilities1. Develop innovative approaches to crafts that will encourage campers to experiment and explore their own creativity.2. Be certain that each camper completes at least one craft project which will be taken home as a reminder of his/her camp experience.3. Maintain order and cleanliness in the craft house.4. Train and assist counselors to be familiar with rules, programs and crafts available to campers.5. Design program crafts reflecting nature.6. Design a three part elective to be used for Timberlake and Day Camp programs. 7. Maintain an inventory of supplies and materials to insure a good program is conducted for all camp sessions.8. Report supply needs and materials list to the program director for purchase.9. Coordinate all craft activities with other camp programs.10. Give support to total camp programs.11. Be resourceful.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.2. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead.3. Ability to operate telephone.4. Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer.5. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.6. Ability to access and produce information from a computer.7. Ability to understand written information.Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
