About the Job
As an enrichment instructor, you will help lead camp activities for school age children to engage them in a variety of subject matter and build upon their abilities outside of the summer learning hours. Enrichment activities encourage children to follow their dreams, discover their talents, grow their confidence and try new things! On a regular day, enrichment instructors will plan and lead creative arts and/or physical education activities teaching children a skill or engaging in educational activities. Enrichment instructors may lead classes in Art, STEAM, Games, film and music productions, sports such as basketball, dance, health & wellness, and yoga, and more!
To thrive in this role, you have prior experience teaching elementary aged children. You are able to develop and implement engaging curriculum, plan accordingly based on program materials and needs, and provide clear instruction to children of varying interests and abilities. You have highly engaging interpersonal skills with ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all segments of the community.
Qualifications
- Must meet or exceed qualifications for a Group Leader as defined by licensing agencies
- Preferred education, BA/BS in education, youth services, recreation or, related or equivalent work experience
- For enrichment opportunities not academically based, one year of experience in the enrichment area is required
- Schedule is Monday - Thursday 11am to 4pm and Friday's from 8am to 4pm from July 8th through August 11th.
