Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Superintendent to oversee the daily operations of our safety and protection projects. The ideal candidate will manage a team of 15 workers, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role involves coordinating with clients and contractors, managing project schedules, and overseeing resources. Based in or around Birmingham, AL, the candidate must be willing to travel as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Oversee the execution of safety and protection projects, ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards.
Team Leadership: Manage and coordinate a team of 15 workers, ensuring efficient and effective completion of tasks.
Blueprint Reading: Interpret and execute construction drawings and blueprints for accurate project implementation.
Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
Resource Management: Schedule and allocate manpower, equipment, and materials to meet project deadlines and budget requirements.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets all relevant codes and standards.
Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Project Manager/Operations Manager on progress, including any issues impacting timelines or budgets.
Qualifications:
Experience: 5+ years of experience in construction management or a related field (experience in firestop/fireproofing is not required).
Skills:
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints
Proven leadership and team management skills
Excellent customer service and client relationship management abilities
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Travel: Must be willing to travel as needed throughout the Southeast region.
Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 10-hour days.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 (commensurate with experience)
