The Superintendent will be responsible for the planning, management direction, project completion, client satisfaction, and financial outcome of assigned construction projects. This position is based out of our Frazer, PA location, however will be responsible for traveling between various site projects as the business requires.
Here's what you’ll get to do:
- Prepare and process all required documentation in a timely manner
- Communicate deviations from original job bid to actual jobsite conditions to client and/or subcontractors and secure additional authorizations prior to starting changes.
- Review the work performed by subcontractors to insure compliance with contract documents and review, adjust, approve change orders.
- Identify and resolve field, contract and construction conflicts. Make decisions and recommendations which affect job profitability.
- Initiate and/or attend project meetings with the purpose of communicating and coordinating with estimators, government officials, subcontractors, and other related parties on behalf of the Company.
- Responsible for project close out
- Maintains the highest level of customer service; ensures that clients are satisfied with all aspects of their relationship.
- Generates relevant reports and communicates pertinent information in a timely manner to management.
- Maintains relations with municipalities and other governmental agencies.
- Prepares reports and other support material for Construction Manager
- Responsible for ordering employees from union, staffing levels and directing line workers.
- Performs other related activities as assigned.
Essential Experience and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management (or related field) OR equivalent work experience is required
- Minimum of 5 years Project Management experience is required
- Prior experience in the Heavy/Highway industry is required
- A Valid Drivers License is required
- Strong understanding of civil project work
- Working knowledge of municipalities (boroughs, counties, etc.) processes and procedures
- Computer Proficiency
- Working knowledge of word processing software
- Working knowledge of spreadsheet software
- Superior Customer Service Acumen
- Firm Leadership skills
- Strong Project Management skills
- Position is regularly scheduled Monday through Friday day time hours, but required to work according to project needs- nights, weekends, etc.
- This position requires the ability to work over 40 hrs. per week
- Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist and lifting below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of arms above and below shoulder, work extended periods of time in same position, perform duties in all climates i.e. weather, extreme temperatures, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment
