We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual for the role of Superintendent (Heavy Civil) in our Construction firm. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected company that is deeply involved in the construction of heavy civil projects including bridges, roadways, and other major infrastructure. The successful candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction, with a focus on project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Superintendent (Heavy Civil), your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing all aspects of heavy civil construction projects, including the construction of bridges and roadways.
2. Developing and implementing project schedules, plans, and budgets.
3. Ensuring all construction activities are performed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
4. Managing and leading a team of construction professionals, ensuring all team members are working together effectively and efficiently.
5. Implementing and maintaining strict cost control measures to ensure project profitability.
6. Coordinating with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
7. Ensuring all construction activities comply with all safety and quality standards and regulations.
8. Identifying and resolving any potential issues or delays that could impact project completion.
9. Providing regular project updates to senior management, including progress reports and forecasts.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Superintendent (Heavy Civil) role will have the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on bridges and roadways.
3. Strong knowledge of construction management principles, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
4. Proven experience in managing and leading a team of construction professionals.
5. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with project stakeholders at all levels.
6. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact project completion.
7. Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
8. A proven track record of successfully completing heavy civil construction projects on time and within budget.
9. A strong commitment to safety and quality, with a thorough understanding of relevant regulations and standards.
10. Professional Engineering (PE) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be considered an asset.
