Superintendent
Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Superintendent is direct responsibility for the overall management of the construction project. This responsibility includes the day-to-day management of the Assistant Superintendents, Foremen, Mechanics, Apprentices and Helpers. The Superintendent is solely responsible for ensuring that all services performed within are in accordance with applicable contractual documents and company budget objectives, as well as ensuring the safety and well-being of our teammates. The Superintendent typically reports to the General Superintendent or Construction Manager.

Essential Functions:
- 1. Maintain strict adherence to all Company safety rules, regulations, procedures, and practices; Interpret Company policies and communicate them to teammates
- 2. Direct, supervise and coordinate the work activities of assigned trade/craft workers including assigning workers to specific duties
- 3. Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders as needed for area of installation
- 4. Review and release Shop Drawings and Spool Drawings for timely field installation
- 5. Inspect work in process and completed work to ensure specifications are accurate
- 6. Ensure required teammates are participating in Predictive Reporting, audit 5 X 5’s, and pretask plans for compliance; hold teammates accountable for these actions
- 7. Schedule material and equipment deliveries to maintain project schedule
- 8. Attend meetings as required
- 9. Complete daily reports
- 10. Teach, coach and guide teammates to ensure work production and safety
- 11. Acting in the interest of the Company and using independent judgement, this position has the authority over teammates assigned to him/her on site and recommends hires, transfers, suspension, layoffs, recalls, promotions, discharges, assignments, rewards, and discipline over teammates assigned to him/her.
- 12. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and follow specfici directions from supervision and project management
- 13. Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules
- 14. Study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for successful project completion
- 15. Monitor and control manpower and tools to ensure efficient and effective use of resources and provide oversight of inventory activities
- 16. Review weekly report of costs incurred; identify possible cost-saving opportunities
- 17. Provide technical and management assistance as needed during day-to-day work activities
- 18. Conduct performance reviews with field teammates; initiate requests for pay increases
- 19. Enforce company disciplinary policies as required
- 20. Monitor and control the implementation of safety policies; attend safety and accident review meetings in an effort to continuously enhance current safety policies and employee practices; perform safety assessments; conduct weekly Safety Toolbox Talks

Requirements:
- 1. Possess at least 7 years’ industry experience, including supervisory experience
- 2. Possess extensive experience in handling personnel issues
- 3. Possess excellent mechanical, administrative and analytical skills
- 4. Possess extensive knowledge of International Codes and general HVAC and plumbing systems
- 5. Possess OSHA 30-hour certification and knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
- 6. Possess or demonstrate ability to obtain Competent Person certifications
- 7. Ability to handle day-to-day tasks relating to work assignments and asset management
- 8. Ability to read and understand project related documents in the English language
- 9. Ability to use current technology (i.e., computer, tablet, smartphone, Microsoft Teams, Procore, BIM)
- 10. Demonstrate foresight and problem-solving skills to make sound business decisions
- 11. Demonstrate a positive attitude and willing to work in a team environment
- 12. Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- 13. Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner
- 14. Ability to maintain a sense of urgency and remain calm when handling emergencies
- 15. Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with internal and external customers
- 16. Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy, make strategic decisions based on measurable criteria and comprehend technical data
- 17. Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as duties demand. Unscheduled overtime may be required, as necessary Travel: Occasional travel to offsite meetings, regional offices, and jobsites, mostly during the workday (rare overnight travel). Must possess a valid driver’s license and able to safely travel throughout our region
