Superintendent - Primoris Heavy Civil - James Construction Group, LLC

JOB SUMMARY

This position is designed to manage road construction and bridge projects in the Houston area. The ideal candidate should have multiple years of Superintendent experience working in a fast-paced environment. Handling multiple road projects with an advanced level of scheduling of specialized construction crews and equipment is required. This Superintendent is responsible for the timely completion of heavy civil projects within an allotted budget. The position will be responsible for scheduling the project activities and directly supervise various foreman in the construction of all earthworks, roadwork, bridges, or other performed work.

JOB DUTIES 

• Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
• Interfacing with Client representatives and other contractors, etc.
• Examine drawings and specifications for various work tasks and ensures current information is passed to front line supervisors.
• Monitor timely delivery of necessary materials and schedules necessary equipment and subcontractors to ensure continued productivity.
• Schedule crews according for the project and all required equipment and materials necessary to complete the task.
• Conduct regular safety meetings with craft employees addressing specific work areas and conditions that require attention stressing compliance with company and regulatory safety procedures.
• Report any extra work, back charges to subcontractors, or delays caused by owner, utility company, or others.
• Perform other related duties as required of the position or as assigned by supervision. 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level).
• Written pre-employment qualification test.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
