Job Summary
Operation of all Raw Materials requiring mining, as well as coordinating supply & reception of external raw materials. Internal Quarries, Material Crushing and External Raw Materials.
Job Responsibilities
- Acts as the plant’s communication clearing house between operations, quality, commercial and logistics departments.
- Ensures plant operations, quality control, and production performed by his/her crews meet or exceed the requirements outlined by the Operations Manager
- Oversees operation of plant equipment in a safe and non-destructive manner
- Indicates when process parameters need to be altered to increase reliability, throughput, or reduce/increase labor
- Motivates his/her employees to work safely and productively
- Trains employees concerning operating procedures and equipment modifications and evaluates their skills, abilities, safety practices, and behavior
- Ensures that Production Department's tools and equipment are in good working condition and that adequate stocks of consumables are maintained
- Ensures completion of required documentation such as shift logs, check-off lists, equipment inspection forms, and safety meetings
- Ensures proper material handling consistent with quality objectives and troubleshoots process systems to determine why quality targets are not met
- Must comply with company safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, Applies Science or a related field.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience
- Completion of MSHA Miner Training
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to physical perform the essential job functions for the position including inspection and operation of packing equipment, lifting of cement bags and pallets, etc.
- Positive customer service attitude
- Be able to work all hours and shifting including weekends and holidays
Working Conditions
- Exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise and working outside
- Must wear all necessary protective equipment while at the location
Physical Requirements
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing to a significant degree
- Heavy work-exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
- Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning and/or pulling of controls.
