Slayden Constructors Inc. (SCI), a wholly owned subsidiary of MWH Constructors, Inc. (MWH), is currently seeking a Project Superintendent to support large wastewater infrastructure projects in Post Falls, Idaho.

Essential Functions
- Lead, manage, and mentor site crews, including foremen, trades, and subcontractors.
- Ensure all field activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations, project specifications, and environmental guidelines.
- Develop and implement daily and weekly work plans, schedules, and resource allocation to meet project milestones.
- Conduct daily site inspections and meetings to monitor progress, address issues, and adjust plans as necessary.
- Provide accurate and timely updates on project status, potential delays, and critical path activities to the Project Manager.
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of dam construction techniques, including earthfill, rockfill, concrete gravity, and roller-compacted concrete (RCC) dams.
- Experience in hydropower project components such as penstocks, spillways, intake structures, and powerhouses.
- Familiarity with geotechnical considerations, dewatering, water control structures, and specialty foundations.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical submittals to ensure compliance with design and project requirements.
- Lead problem-solving efforts related to site conditions, material handling, and construction challenges.
- Champion a culture of safety by enforcing company safety policies, conducting daily safety meetings, and promoting safe work practices.
- Coordinate with the Site Safety Health Manager to ensure job site compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local safety standards.
- Investigate and report all incidents, near misses, and safety violations promptly.
- Ensure environmental compliance related to water management, erosion control, and site restoration.
- Oversee the quality control process, including testing, inspections, and adherence to project specifications.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, project documentation, and progress reports.
- Collaborate with Quality Control personnel to address non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Interface with clients, engineers, consultants, and regulatory agencies to address site issues and project concerns.
- Attend project meetings, providing input on scheduling, manpower, equipment needs, and logistical challenges.
- Facilitate communication between field crews and project management to ensure alignment on project goals and priorities.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 5 years in dam construction and hydropower projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
- Strong understanding of dam and hydroelectric construction methodologies, industry standards, and best practices.
- Proficient in construction scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and project management tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, blueprints, and construction documents.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification required.
- First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Safety oriented, OSHA training.
- Prior experience and expertise with dams, hydroelectrical, or water/wastewater projects.
