We explore opportunities and develop projects that will enhance reliability, improve system performance and increase access to more diverse generation sources for customers across the country.About The PositionThe Supervising Engineer, Transmission Outage Coordination, is responsible for the immediate supervision, training and evaluation of personnel overseeing the planning and execution of transmission equipment outages and the outage sequence planning process associated with maintenance and construction projects. Additional duties include providing technical leadership, managing workload of internal and consultant staff, justifying and hiring of new employees, participation in industry groups, and ensuring the transmission system is secure and reliable.Key Responsibilities Include:
- Ensure that outage planning and scheduling is performed to meet target timelines, satisfy all requirements, and in compliance with MISO's business process manuals.
- Lead the outage sequence planning process to develop phased plans for outages to enable maintenance and construction projects.
- Provide technical leadership for those performing near-term power-flow studies of the Ameren transmission system and interconnected external systems under various scenarios of outages, load, generation dispatch, etc. to coordinate outage activities and advise Transmission Operations of future system conditions.
- Develop Outage Coordination and Outage Sequence Planning procedures, incorporating innovative tools and processes as they become available.
- Keep abreast of state-of-the-art developments and improvements and contribute to the personal and professional development needs of the team members in the group.
- Build effective teams; foster engagement, innovation, and accountability in their work.
- Plan, schedule, prioritize and coordinate activities to assure that assignments are completedQualifications:Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited university required, Electrical Engineering preferred. Professional Engineer (P.E.) License preferred. Five or more years of Electric Utility experience required, seven or more years of electric utility experience is preferred. Five or more years of Transmission or Distribution Planning, Operations, Engineering Design, Substation/Relay Maintenance or utility construction experience preferred. Familiarity with the transmission systems preferred.In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:Good leadership, management, analytical, communication, and human relations skills required.
