Responsibilities
Ascension Medical Group is looking for a full-time Supervisor for our Cardiology Heart Failure team.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Illinoisto provide medical services to patients.
Position Highlights:
- Supervisor will work closely with the Director of Cardiovascular Service Line in our Northwest region.
- Responsibilities include direct reports in Heart Failure including hospital navigators, VA coordinators, advanced practice providers, Nurses, Medical Assistants and front office staff.
- The Supervisor will work alongside the system Heart Failure Medical Director
- Clinical experience as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required for this role
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide leadership to Advanced Practice Providers, ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned area.
- Coordinate and monitor patient care provided by Advanced Practice Providers.
- Oversee competency assessments and clinical skill improvement opportunities.
- Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.
- Perform quality assurance studies and assist with the implementation of quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
- Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
- Ensure that multidisciplinary rounds meet the needs of clients, families, and other care providers.
- Assist with development, evaluation, and implementation of policies and procedures for specialty area.
- Participate in hiring, discipline, development, and evaluation of staff.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) verified by local Credentialing office.
- One or more of the following required:
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Allow in lieu of Basic Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Allow in lieu of Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Midwife obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. In states where it applies RN license must be held concurrent to Advanced Practice license.
- Nurse Anesthetist credentialed from the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. In states where it applies RN license must be held concurrent to Advanced Practice license.
- Clinical Nurse Specialist credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Credentials are verified by local staff credentialing office
- Clinical Nurse Specialist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. In states where it applies RN license must be held concurrent to Advanced Practice license.
- Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Credentials are verified by local staff credentialing office
- Nurse Practitioner obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. In states where it applies RN license must be held concurrent to Advanced Practice license.
- Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Credentials are verified by local staff credentialing office
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Credentials are verified by local staff credentialing office
Education:
- Education appropriate for licensure held: Master's degree of Nursing, Master's or Doctorate of Nursing Anesthesia Practice, Doctorate of Science in Nursing, Master's or Doctorate of Science in Nursing Midwifery, Doctorate of Nursing Practice, Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program required.
Work Experience:
- 3 years of experience required.
- 1 year of leadership or management experience preferred.
