COMPENSATION
The current minimum salary is $47.933216 per hour for a 40-hour week increasing to $52.927853 per hour in the third year of service. These rates are subject to change as per the SSSA Collective Bargaining Agreement. The benefits of this position include, but are not limited to, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, and a comprehensive medical plan and pension plan.
Current rate has been established by the SSSA Union and is non-negotiable.
Hours of work and regular days off may be changed as urgent business matters arise.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing Operations Division supervisory duties and responsibilities as assigned, including, but not limited to planning, organizing, leading, directing and inspecting the work of Operations Division employees, providing technical guidance to Operations Division employees as they perform their assigned responsibilities, leading, developing and ensuring positive conflict resolution with Operations Division employees, achieving Department/Division production goals and objectives, initiating disciplinary action against employees, when required, Investigating and responding to grievances and corrective action to address deficiencies. Although not department specific, regarding supervisory duties and responsibilities, it is intended that the successful candidate be competent and have experience in the following fields.
- Mechanical Department inspection, repair, and troubleshooting,
- Car appearance group staffing and fleet cleaning operations,
- RCI troubleshooting, staffing and terminal operations,
- Transportation Department operational requirements and staffing protocols
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license free from violations and restrictions.
- A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in rail transit car equipment maintenance/operations or a similarly related field is expected.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Special or technical training in the field of car equipment maintenance/operations or post high school training in business management and supervision are preferred.
- One (1) year additional experience in a progressively responsible supervisory experience.
SELECTION METHOD
Based on evaluation of education. skills, experience, and interview.
