Education and/or Experience

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Proficient in MRP systems.
Knowledge of E-time Payroll systems

Coordinates the activities of the Grinding Department personnel to ensure that daily production is processed in the most safely and efficient manner according to customer specifications; enforces company policies and procedures.

- Executes daily productions plans through coordination with other lead personnel and production employees.
- Observes machines and equipment and takes action to correct malfunction as necessary.
- Provides clear verbal and written direction to subordinate employees related to safety, quality and production.
- Ensures that each operation under his /her supervision performs according to plan.
- Examines materials and products at various stages of production to evaluate conformance to specifications.
- Executes production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
- Executes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules as necessary.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product as part of continuous improvement.
- Ensures that daily production targets are met during his/her shift and assists other shifts met their daily goals.
- Approve employees timecards and monitors overtime assignments to ensure it complies with policies and legal requirements.
- Maintains a safe, clean and organized work environment.
- Conducts and ensures that standard operating procedure training is conducted daily, weekly or monthly as required.
- Conducts regular operational audits to ensure that safety, quality, production and housekeeping practices are followed according to plan.
- Writes daily production, quality and safety reports as necessary.
- Performs injury investigations and injury prevention improvements.
- Participates in teams and committees as necessary.
- Prepares requisitions and orders supplies and materials as necessary.
