What you will do: Ferroglobe is seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Supervisor, including expertise in crane operations, to join our team. The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the maintenance operations of our facilities, with a particular focus on crane systems, ensuring optimal functionality, safety, and efficiency of equipment and infrastructure. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to maintenance management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Maintenance Team: Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols, including crane operations.
- Maintenance Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans and schedules for crane systems and other equipment to minimize downtime, optimize resources, and maintain reliability.
- Crane Operations: Oversee crane operations, including inspection, maintenance, and repair activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
- Equipment Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of crane systems, machinery, and facilities to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and perform preventive maintenance tasks as needed.
- Repair and Troubleshooting: Coordinate and oversee repair activities for crane systems and other equipment, including breakdowns, malfunctions, and emergency repairs, to minimize production disruptions and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and supplies for crane maintenance, ensuring adequate stock availability while optimizing inventory costs and minimizing waste.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety policies and procedures related to crane operations and maintenance, conduct safety inspections, and promote a culture of safety awareness among maintenance team members to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency enhancements, and technology upgrades within the maintenance department, driving continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence for crane operations and overall facility maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant field preferred.
- Proven experience in maintenance supervision or related role, with expertise in crane operations and maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or industrial systems, with specific expertise in crane systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Familiarity with maintenance management software and tools is desirable.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards, particularly related to crane operations.
- Certification or training in crane operation and maintenance is a plus.
