JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Responsible for planning and assigning work order requests, and administering/enforcing policies and procedures; suggesting methods for improving production equipment; ensuring job duties are performed in an efficient, safe and timely manner; approving time records and managing the performance review process and enforcing company standards such as quality and safety.
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Maintenance
- Receives work order requests from various departments via email or phone; reviews and determines priorities; plans and coordinates work schedule with maintenance workers.
- Implements and oversees the preventative maintenance schedule to ensure inspections, cleanings, lubricating and adjustments of mechanical equipment are completed as scheduled, in order to increase life expectancy of equipment and systems; communicates and schedules warranty related issues with vendors.
- Participates in isolating and diagnosing complex mechanical malfunctions or failures in order to speed up the repair process by checking manuals and applying advanced knowledge.
- Maintains and implements policies and procedures to improve equipment usage, job performance and quality of product methods.
- Attends regularly scheduled meetings with supervisors and managers to maintain open communication and keep production schedule moving.
- Maintains open communications between shifts to ensure smooth and productive shift changeover.
Research and Reporting
- Research and evaluates the feasibility of repairing or replacing equipment and systems; provides management with cost estimates to aide in making effective decisions for both alternatives.
- Prepares periodic reports in order to advise of work in progress, work completed and/or operational status of equipment.
- Research and order out of stock parts.
Supervision and Personnel Management
- Continually and proactively demonstrates strong leadership and managerial skills in recruiting, selecting, training, motivating, reviewing, coaching, developing, and retaining a high performance team.
- Ensures company policies and guidelines as set forth in the Corporate Human Resources Policy manual are followed; maintains a safe and clean work environment and collaborates with others to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Conducts timely and accurate employee performance evaluations; addresses performance issues.

- Attends meetings as required and/or assigned.

Special Job Dimensions
- Will be required to travel up to 40% of the time.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, SAP
- Knowledge of computer programs and applications to troubleshoot equipment
- Knowledge of electrical codes
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, manuals, blueprints, drawings and schematics
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose facility and machine problems
- Strong troubleshooting skills using electrical schematics and test instruments
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize work schedule

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- AND
- 5-7 years of building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair experience.
- Experience supervising other maintenance technicians.
