This is a professional position providing supervisory oversight for Cooperative Agreement to Benefit Homeless Individuals (CABHI) under the Housing First Division. The CABHI program provides counseling and case management services to individuals, youth, and families who have experienced homelessness and have a severe and persistent mental health condition or co-occurring disorder. This program is focused on formally homeless individuals, youth, and families who have recently been housed in permanent or permanent supportive housing.
The Supervisor will play an integral role of support, coaching and guidance for a team of Counselors and Behavioral Health Case Managers serving individuals, youth and families who are housed but need additional support to manage mental health or substance use issues to remain housed and overcome the risk of homelessness. The Supervisor will ensure that the counseling and behavioral health case management services being delivered are individualized, recovery-focused and allow individuals the opportunity to learn how to manage their own recovery and advocacy process. The Supervisor will be a subject matter expert on counseling and targeted case management interventions that utilize natural supports, community supports, and input and resources from other community partners or professional agencies. The Supervisor will ensure that all services adhere to the HFW principles of: Family Voice and Choice, Culturally and Linguistically Competent, Individualized, Strengths-Based, Natural Supports, Community-Based, Team-Based, Collaboration and Integration, Persistence-Unconditional Care, and Outcome-Based. The Supervisor will ensure that all services emphasize individualized treatment planning that is strength based and built collaboratively with the youth, adult, and family and natural and community supports that care about and know the youth, adult, and family best. The Supervisor will ensure that all services occur in the community at a place convenient and comfortable for the family. The Supervisor will ensure that Counselors and Behavioral Health Case Managers provide recommendations and referrals to other service providers as appropriate, such as psychiatry, SOAR, etc., and that the Behavioral Health Case Managers collaborate with the other clinical service providers. The CABHI Supervisor will also ensure that all persons served by the team who are uninsured are enrolled in the Pinellas Health Plan. This is an office-based position. The Supervisor is responsible for driving superior performance regarding the above responsibilities as well as all agency policies, practice and standards, including ensuring individual staff meet an annual Client Service Level of 1,316 hours. Achieving the minimum required weekly, monthly, and annual Client Service Level hours is an essential function of this position.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's degree in the Human Services field with a minimum of three years' leadership experience within an outpatient community mental health organization or homeless services organization.
- Must have sufficient administrative knowledge to provide quality leadership for personnel with varied degrees of experience and training.
- Must have or immediately acquire knowledge of all community resources.
- Certification as a Behavioral Health Case Management Supervisor and High-Fidelity Wraparound Facilitator per the Florida Certification Board (FCB) is required within 3 months of hire and High Fidelity Wraparound Coach Certification is required within 3 months thereafter.
- All FCB certifications required must be maintain throughout employment at the employee's expense.
