Description:6:45 pm-7:15am / Full Time / 36 Hours
The responsibility of the Supervisor of Respiratory Care is to function as a competent Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide advanced respiratory care to patients of all ages (i.e., neonates, infants, pediatric patients, and adults). In addition, the Respiratory Care Supervisor assumes an active leadership role under the direction of the department director, assistant director, and manager, in the development of Respiratory Care Services.
The Respiratory Care Supervisor ensures that all staff are competency verified and leads the process of continuing quality improvement. Demonstrates mastery in the knowledge and skills of their specialized designated area of practices. Works collaboratively as a member of the department leadership team, taking a proactive role to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the department. Assist educator with implementation of new equipment, guidelines, standards, and orientation. Provides and manages advanced learning opportunities for staff (i.e., time away from clinical duties, conferences, seminars, continuing education credits, etc.). Demonstrates motivation, discipline, and accountability with research and QI projects. Provides oversight, input, and assistance to developing departmental and operational budgets. Demonstrates proficiency in technology to promote communication, safety concerns, and documentation of care (CERNER, BCMA, email, websites, patient database). Maintains an up-to-date clinical and scientific knowledge of respiratory care procedures, equipment, and medications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed as a Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) in the state of Georgia.
- Must be registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- ACLS for Adult Critical Care or NRP for Neonatal Critical Care certification required depending on the supervisor's clinical specialty.
- BLS certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
