Summary:
The OSP Engineering Supervisor will oversee OSP design efforts, evaluate and order OSP related materials, quality check splice plans, and provide field support to construction team members and installation subcontractors. This individual will communicate and work daily with project team members from various departments and assist with all aspects of project coordination and scheduling. Ability to manage tight deadlines, manage multiple workflows through various stages of the project life cycle, maintain accurate records, and provide progress reports are important elements to be successful in this position.
In addition, this role is responsible to support business improvement by meeting personal and departmental goals and objectives timely and effectively.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Must follow and meet Performance Expectations for this role
- Identify and communicate issues and assist with resolutions
- Follow best-practice project planning and status reporting standards per established processes
- Minimize errors and inefficiencies
- Prepare project and program statistics and reports
- Review and resolution of correspondence and sensitive documents
- Coordinate communications plans including email, newsletters, and presentations
- Work with state, county and local jurisdictional agencies, utilities, canal districts, railroads, and governmental authorities to obtain approval of proposed placement of OSP facilities.
- Have the ability to recognize/identify Engineering design drawings, and the ability to take field notes, if necessary.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and/or QUALIFICATIONS
- In depth knowledge and experience with OSP Engineering, including underground and aerial design and placement, development of fiber splice plans, OTDR and PM/LS testing, OSP materials sourcing, NESC rules and regulations applicable to communications networks.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Must be resourceful, flexible and maintain the ability to react and respond quickly with a focus on accuracy and details.
- Experience with permit applications/documents.
- Knowledge of relevant technology and equipment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
